    After arriving at Kansai International Airport, you'll make your way to the historic city of Nara, known for its serene atmosphere and spiritual heritage. Rita & Mindy will meet you at your accommodation and warmly welcome you to Japan!

    Our senses are gently stimulated by the quiet beauty of Nara—the lush greenery, the soothing presence of ancient temples, and the peaceful deer that roam freely. We embrace the slow, mindful pace of this sacred city, allowing ourselves to unwind and settle into the new time zone.

    Today is about relaxing, adjusting, and absorbing the tranquil energy of Nara’s historic charm. No rush, no agenda—just an initial pause to prepare for the adventures ahead.

  • A Day of Serenity and Connection in Nara

    Today, we continue to embrace the peaceful rhythm of Nara. After a restful morning, we head out to Nara Park, where the gentle presence of the famous deer invites us to connect with nature and find calm in their quiet companionship.

    We visit the historic Todai-ji Temple, home to the Great Buddha — a towering, awe-inspiring figure that embodies Japan’s spiritual heritage. As we take our time exploring, we allow ourselves to breathe, relax, and absorb the profound tranquility that surrounds us.

    This day is about gentle exploration and healing—the perfect opportunity to recover from jetlag and settle fully into the energy of Japan. We move at a slow pace, cultivating mindfulness through the serenity of the temple grounds and the gentle interactions with wild deer.

    As the afternoon unfolds, we return to our hotel in Nara, where we can rest, reflect, and feel the peaceful rhythm of this sacred place settling into our hearts.

  • Traveling to Kurashiki and Discovering Japan’s Historic Charm

    Today, we leave the tranquil city of Nara by train, heading to the enchanting city of Kurashiki. Upon arrival, we settle into our accommodation and prepare for an afternoon full of incredible photography opportunities.

    As we wander through the historic old town, you'll have the perfect chance to capture the timeless beauty of Japan’s traditional architecture. Stroll along the cobbled streets and alongside the tranquil canal, lined with historic warehouses, teahouses, and charming cafes—perfect settings for mindful and inspired photography.

    This day offers a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in Japan’s rich heritage through your lens, capturing scenes that reveal the heart of old Japan. Take your time to observe, compose, and connect with the serene, nostalgic atmosphere that makes Kurashiki so special.

    Today, we depart from Kurashiki, traveling by train and ferry to the inspiring island of Naoshima—Japan’s renowned hub for contemporary art and architecture. As we make our way across the waters, anticipation builds for the vibrant surprises awaiting us.

    Once on the island, we immerse ourselves in its unique artistic landscape. One of the highlights is Yayoi Kusama’s iconic Pumpkin—an extraordinary sculpture that invites both awe and stunning photographic opportunities. Its playful, bold design encapsulates creativity and inspiration.

    Throughout the day, you’ll have ample time to explore the island’s fascinating art installations, museums, and beautiful seaside scenery. Whether capturing reflections of artworks or discovering hidden corners, Naoshima’s vibrant art scene offers endless inspiration for your photography and inner reflection.

  • Tranquil Island Morning & Bullet Train Journey North

    This morning on Naoshima offers a beautiful pause—surrounded by the shimmering sea and immersed in inspiring works of art. It’s a perfect time to explore the island further at your own pace, or to find a quiet spot for inner reflection and journaling. Whether you choose to wander and absorb the scenery or take time to turn inward, this moment invites deep connection and inspiration.

    Later, we embark on a scenic journey by ferry and shinkansen across Japan’s main island from south to north. The changing landscapes provide a wonderful backdrop for reflection, inspiration, and processing as we move towards the vibrant cultural city of Kanazawa.

    Arriving in the evening, you’ll settle into your hotel in Kanazawa, resting in anticipation of the enriching days ahead—2 Kanazawa days dedicated to uncovering traditional beauty, inspiring creativity, and deepening your connection with Japan and yourself.

  • Exploring Kanazawa’s Beauty, Craftsmanship & Tradition

    Today, we immerse ourselves in the rich cultural heritage and artistic spirit of Kanazawa. Our morning begins with a visit to Kenrokuen Garden, one of Japan’s most renowned and harmonious gardens. Wander its tranquil pathways, marvel at the seasonal beauty, and take mindful photographs of the natural artistry that surrounds you.

    In the afternoon, we explore Higashi Chaya District, a beautifully preserved geisha town with traditional wooden teahouses and narrow streets that evoke a bygone era. This enchanting district offers countless photographic opportunities—delicate architecture, charming alleyways, and glimpses into Japan’s elegant cultural traditions.

    Kanazawa is also famous for its exceptional artisanal crafts. You’ll have the chance to visit local shops renowned for gold leaf products, Kutani ware ceramics, lacquerware, and traditional textiles—each reflecting centuries-old craftsmanship.   • From Kanazawa to Nagano: A Day of Exploration & Sacred Connection

    Today, we depart from Kanazawa, feeling inspired and enriched by our journey through this remarkable city. Our first stop is Toyama, where you can indulge in a fresh sushi lunch, savoring the exquisite flavors and mindful appreciation of Japan’s culinary artistry.

    After lunch, we continue northward to Nagano City. Here, we settle into a traditional temple stay near Zenko-ji, one of Japan’s most historic and revered temples. Zenko-ji, founded over a thousand years ago, is renowned for its stunning architecture and spiritual significance. It is a place of pilgrimage and reflection, inviting us to experience centuries-old monastic traditions through meditation, quiet contemplation, and connection with the present moment.

    This sacred space offers a deeply nourishing environment to deepen your mindfulness practice, embrace stillness, and immerse yourself in Japan’s spiritual heritage.

    Throughout the day, you're encouraged to absorb each moment, breathing in the beauty of the landscapes, the cultural richness, and the peaceful energy that permeates Nagano and its sacred surroundings.

  • Zenko-ji & Onsen Relaxation in Karuizawa

After our exploration, we partake in a truly special experience—a unique temple breakfast prepared with mindfulness and reverence, nourishing both body and spirit.

    Following this spiritual morning, you’ll have some free time to browse the local shops in Nagano city, discovering traditional crafts and souvenirs that reflect the region’s rich cultural heritage. Later, we enjoy delicious oyaki— a traditional regional specialty—adding to the day’s authentic culinary experience.

    As we deepen our connection to Japan’s profound traditions, we recognize that onsen (hot springs) are more than just relaxing retreats—they are sacred spaces for renewal, purification, and social bonding, deeply rooted in Japanese culture. Soaking in the mineral-rich waters of a tranquil onsen offers both physical and spiritual rejuvenation, nurturing the body and calming the mind.

    In the afternoon, we head to Karuizawa, renowned for its soothing hot springs. Here, you can immerse yourself in the calming mineral waters, soaking in the tranquility and reflecting on the enriching days we've shared. Tonight, embrace the restorative warmth of the onsen and the peaceful energy that embodies this ancient therapeutic tradition, gently preparing us to return to Tokyo the following day.

  • Leaving the Mountains & Exploring West Tokyo

    After a scenic shinkansen journey from the tranquil mountains of Karuizawa, we arrive in the pulsating heart of Tokyo, a captivating city where tradition gracefully intertwines with modernity. Upon stepping off the train at Tokyo Station, you'll be struck by the juxtaposition of historical architecture and the bustling energy of urban life.

    Our exploration begins with a peaceful walk to the Imperial Palace Gardens, where you'll find a momentary escape from the city's vibrant tempo. Amidst the lush greenery and delicate sakura blossoms, capture the harmonious blend of nature and architecture, offering a perfect canvas for your creative expressions.

    Next, we venture to Jimbocho, known as the world's largest bookstore district, offering a haven for literary enthusiasts and vintage treasure hunters. Stroll through charming streets lined with unique bookshops and quaint cafes, each offering its own slice of history and a window into Tokyo's past.

    In the afternoon, we explore Ginza, renowned for its luxury shopping and sophisticated atmosphere.   • Discovering West Tokyo

    We immerse ourselves in the vibrant, diverse neighborhoods of West Tokyo, where tradition and contemporary life blend seamlessly. Our morning begins in Harajuku, a renowned hub of youthful energy and innovative fashion. Wander Takeshita Street, brimming with colorful shops, quirky boutiques, and street food vendors, capturing lively and playful images that reflect Tokyo’s creative spirit. Stroll through Omotesando, often called Tokyo’s Champs-Élysées, lined with architecturally stunning boutiques and stylish cafes—perfect for mindful wandering and photography.

    Next, we pay a visit to the Meiji Shrine, a serene sanctuary nestled within a dense forest. This sacred Shinto site offers a peaceful environment to connect with Japan’s spiritual traditions. Walk the peaceful forest path to the shrine buildings, where the natural harmony invites mindfulness and reflection.

    Following that, we settle in Yoyogi Park, a beloved green space where locals gather to enjoy Hanami—cherry blossom viewing. Bring a picnic and take time to breathe in the fragrance of the sakura, capturing tender moments of joy, serenity, and connection with nature.

    We then ascend to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building for panoramic views of the city. From the observation decks, appreciate Tokyo’s sprawling urban landscape and majestic skyline—an inspiring scene to photograph and reflect upon. If we’re lucky, we will see Mt. Fuji from above, in preparation of our visit the following day!

    As evening approaches, we venture into Shibuya, famous for its bustling atmosphere and iconic scramble crossing. Witness the vibrant energy—and perhaps join the crowds—while exploring shops, cafes, and the Hachikō Statue, a beloved symbol of loyalty and Tokyo life.

    This day is an opportunity to observe, breathe, and engage with Tokyo’s lively yet tranquil neighborhoods, blending cultural traditions with the dynamic pulse of modern life.

  • Embracing the Spirit of Japan’s Sacred Mountain

    Today, we embark on a journey to the breathtaking Mount Fuji area. Traveling by bus from Tokyo, you'll enjoy scenic views of the countryside and see the iconic mountain rising majestically in the distance. Upon arrival, explore the surrounding landscape, capturing the serene beauty of Fuji’s tranquil slopes and the traditional villages nestled at its base.

    We'll visit the Fujisan Sengen Shrine, a sacred site set amidst nature’s quietude—perfect for mindful reflection and photography. Take your time wandering along scenic viewpoints, absorbing the breathtaking vistas of Mount Fuji and connecting with its peaceful, spiritual energy.

    After a day of inspiration and deep connection, we return to Tokyo in the late afternoon. You’ll check into a hotel in Asakusa, in East Tokyo, where you’ll have time to rest, reflect, and absorb the day’s experiences. Perhaps enjoy a peaceful walk along the Sumida River or simply relax, letting the natural and spiritual impressions of the mountain settle within you.

    This day is dedicated to honoring the majestic presence of Fuji and fostering inner reflection, offering a profound connection to Japan’s most iconic symbol before returning to the vibrant energy of the city.

  • Tradition & Farewell Reflections as we Explore East Tokyo

    Today, we immerse ourselves in the rich cultural heartbeat of East Tokyo. Starting with an early visit to Tsukiji Market, you’ll experience the vibrant energy of one of the world’s most famous fish markets. Savor a fresh sushi breakfast or take a gentle stroll through the stalls, capturing dynamic scenes of market life and the colorful array of ingredients—perfect for mindful photography and appreciating Japan’s culinary artistry.

    Following this sensory experience, we return to Asakusa, the historic district where the city’s traditional spirit remains alive. Visit Senso-ji Temple, Tokyo’s oldest and most revered shrine, with its iconic thunder gate and lively Nakamise Street. Capture the intricate details of the temple’s ancient architecture, and the bustling energy of vendors selling local crafts and snacks.

    If time permits, you may wish to explore Ueno Park, the Yanaka area, or some of Tokyo’s lesser-known neighborhoods for a final moment of reflection and connection through your lens.     Depending on your flight schedule, we will assist with transfer arrangements to the airport, ensuring a smooth and mindful farewell. Our trip is subject to changes according to weather, local policy, or unexpected circumstances. We keep a flexible mind, and stay open to adjusting to the conditions we may encounter. Rita will always make the best possible decisions in order to keep our trip as enjoyable and rich as possible.

This trip will also have a WhatsApp group to support us. We’ll use it for any questions before we depart, stay connected during the trip for coordination and shared moments, and after, to continue sharing memories and nurturing the bonds formed.   • Travel Insurance. Please notice that travel insurance is compulsory to join the trip.


PRICE: 5600 EURO / 6400 USD

PAYMENT:

  1. A deposit of 900€ / 1000 USD is required to register and confirm your place.

  2. The second payment of 2500€ / 2900 USD is due by September 1st 2025.

  3. The final payment of 2200€ / 2500 USD is due by December 1st 2025.

  4. For payments after December 1st 2025, we need to confirm the final price due to changes to the room prices.

HOW TO PAY:

Payment can be made by bank transfer to NAMKHA Trips’ bank account in Portugal or to Mindy Véissid’s account in the United States. Alternatively, you can pay via Stripe, PayPal, Klarna, or Revolut—note that these options include fees depending on your country. Please contact us, and we will review each case individually.

CANCELATION POLICY:

  • If the trip is canceled by us, you will receive a full refund.

  • If you cancel up to 120 days before the trip, you will receive a refund of the total amount paid minus the deposit of 900€ / 1000 USD and a 150€ / 200 USD handling fee.

  • If you cancel less than 120 days before the trip, the full amount paid is non-refundable.

NOTE ON TRAVEL INSURANCE:

Travel insurance is compulsory to join this trip. We encourage you to choose a policy that covers potential losses due to unforeseen circumstances, such as illness or natural disasters.
